CMS has made a clear separation of Prosthesics from DME; custom Orthotics is also separated from DME. the Alliance, comprised of the 4 Prosthetic and Orthotic Organizations in the USA (National Association for the Advancement of Orthotics and Prosthetics, American Academy of Prosthetists and Orthotists and Pedorthists, Amercican Board for Certification in Prosthetics and Orthotics and Pedorthics, American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association) have worked diligently to achieve this separation. Would be good for sites such as this to keep abreast of this and other SIGNIFICANT developments form a government, regulatory perspective. A very good resource for this is www.naaop.org. I would be happy to expand on this and other aspects of this web site. Jan Stokosa, CP, FAAOP Michigan
