The UCBL is an arch support designed to passively correct hindfoot and/or forefoot abnormalities by complete realignment. The use of the UCBL support has been most successful in treating children’s deformities, as the mature foot is less amenable to realignment.
The foot support is fabricated from a custom cast of the patient’s foot. The design provides a heel seat and extends anteriorly on the medial and lateral sides up to the head of the metatarsals.
WEARING PROTOCOL
Your physician will give specific instructions as to wearing protocol, but normally worn when up and ambulating daily.
DON AND DOFF
Easily placed in proper shoes.
CARE
Cleanse with alcohol and clean cloth.
SUGGESTIONS
Initially, watch for any red marks or skin changes. Report any changes or discomfort to your orthotist.
