The Pavlik Harness is a brace design utilizing an anterior strapping system to obtain 90 degrees or more of hip flexion and the posterior strapping system to control abduction.
The design was first developed in 1944 by the Czechoslovakian orthopaedic surgeon, Arnold Pavlik.
The Pavlik harness is used to treat hip dysplasia. The hips are held in a position of controlled flexion and abduction.
