Shoes, Inserts & Foot Orthotics

Elizabeth Carlstrom

Happy Monday Everyone!

Wow, it has been a while since I've blogged!  Needless to say, I have been quite busy over the past several months.

I was talking to a very nice lady at BCBS a few weeks ago, and she was telling me that most insurance companies are adopting the policy of corporate exclusions for Diabetic & Orthopedic Shoes, Inserts and Foot Orthotics...across the board!  She also indicated that all major insurance payers are doing the same.

With that being said, I cannot stress the importance of verifying insurance for every service and every visit, to see that you get paid properly!  VERIFY, VERIFY, VERIFY and ASK the write questions...very important.

Happy Verifying...

Wow!!! I would love to know what state you are billing in? I'm here in N.C. and thankfully we have not had that problem yet nor even has it been discussed. I will for sure be on the lookout for changes as you know as well as I do that insurances change there policies, well it seems like every 6 months!!!!!
