2009 Extremity Games were a BLAST!!!!!!!!

I got a wonderful opportunity to go to Michigan a couple of weeks ago and witness some of the best physically challenged athletes have ever seen. It was great to see how no matter what the adversity the competitive spirit doesn't die.

I think the venue was great, the location couldn’t be better and the staff was wonderful.

There was Motorcross, Rock Climbing, Kayaking, Wake Boarding, Skateboarding, Mountain Biking, and Jose’ Vazquez from Ossur and I performed the Martial Arts Demonstration and some self defense techniques. We had a lot of fun.  Check out the pics

On a side note I want to say my prayers go out to the Vazquez family as they have recently lost their 11 year old son to cancer.  And in the spirit of what I believe the games embody Jose' has turned a personal tragedy into a positive cause.  He has begun a fighter sponsorship called “Righteous Anger”.   His first fighters are Ron Mann and Ernie Paulson both amputees.  The Athletic Gear was founded in support of Cancer Research. 30% of their profits will go to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital to fight cancer.
