The overall structure of the 1C31 Trias+ is similar to the human foot. The heel and forefoot elements form the arch structure. The base spring connects the heel and forefoot springs to deliver smooth, unified performance. When examing the ground reaction forces, there are relatively small differences between the prosthetic and contralateral side – this is a result of the foot’s excellent shock absorption and terminal stance support properties. The ankle moment graph shows a smooth, controlled movement that matches physiological movement very closely.
The 1C31 is the result of creative prosthetic design and innovative technology. Conjoined dual springs in the heel and forefoot provide shock absorption at heel strike as well as a more natural rollover. Secure, controlled movements give your patient greater confidence while walking because the foot adapts well to various walking speeds and uneven surfaces.
Functionality
When stress is placed on the heel, the Trias+ cushions the impact for increased comfort and simultaneously supports plantar flexion of the foot. As the foot rolls forward, energy is seamlessly transferred to the forefoot. The result is a foot that helps your patient walk with a more natural gait.
During mid-stance, the lower leg moves forward. During this process, the forefoot springs are first stressed via the soft base spring, which makes it easier for the patient to shift their weight to the forefoot. During late stance, both springs work together for exceptional forefoot stability. A large portion of the energy stored during rollover is returned.
The Trias+ is suitable for transtibial amputees, knee disarticulation patients, and transfemoral and hip disarticulation amputees with low to moderate activity level who require a lightweight functioning carbon fiber foot. We recommend it for Mobility Grades 2 and 3*. It is available in sizes from 21 to 30 centimeters and can be used up to a maximum weight of 125 kilograms / 275 pounds depending on the size of the foot.
Functional Cosmetic Shell
The combination of foot shell and connection cap provides a convenient finish to the cosmetic cover of the prosthesis. The cap stabilizes the ankle area and makes it possible to glue down the foam material. This creates an almost invisible transition between the foot and the foam material. This connection makes it possible to easily adjust the alignment after the prosthesis is complete.
